I am so excited to share photos from Alexa and Steph's couples shoot-turned proposal in Rice Park! This was exciting not only because it was my first time documenting a proposal, but I also got the opportunity to work with two other nonbinary people. Queer love is the reason that I do what I do, and I am so grateful for every chance to work with other queer folks.
Enough about me though!
Alexa set up this shoot, telling their partner that they were just getting some nice couples photos taken, and Steph had no idea that they were going to propose! A passerby shouted out their congratulations to the couple while we were taking photos, foreshadowing their soon-to-be engagement.
While we were snapping photos on the steps of the St. Paul Public Library, friends of the couple were setting out a blanket, lights, and a box that housed a book that Alexa had painted, the last page reading "marry me?" When Steph opened their gift and got to the last page, Alexa popped the question, and Steph said yes! Their engagement was one of three taking place at Rice Park that night, and I may be biased, but I think that theirs was the sweetest. The forethought put into this proposal was incredibly cute, and the couple's embrace after getting engaged was heartwarming. Alex and Steph, congrats on your engagement, I am so glad to have been a part of it!
